David, is it buggy or hogging resources?
Seems everytime an NLE mfg makes a media manager feature, its broken right out of the box and buggy at best.

I’ve noticed that as well. with playing back HD video files dragged over to the DVI-D from my MBE. Slow as molasses it plays, but move it over to the primary display with a 16x pci-e card and it plays fine.
I believe the MBE extended desktop lacks any accelaration features and thus gives very slow performance.
The workaround I’m pondering is a DVI-D switch that can go between the second DVI-D output of my 16x pci-e video card and the multibridge extreme thus having your cake and eating it too.

Do you mean 24P?
Whats the real difference between software and hardware mode?
I successfully captured 720P 59.94 through analog component HD from my JVC -HD100 and captured it in FCP as 10-bit uncompressed SD 16:9 anamorphic with the hardware mode option on.
I wish it would simply have the option to go to tape as well. doesn’t really make sense that it can’t. Is that a future firmware update?

multibridge application does not work. a box comes up saying to use
the control panel lol.ok so the stand alone converter does not work yet. Nice. Its a damn good
thing we were able to just downconvert when we digitized it or I’d be in a shit storm with my client.BlackMagic…..Please DO NOT tell people about available features if they are not available on product release. It makes YOUR customers (us) look bad which makes you look bad.

Is timecode an issue?
Make sure you rent a dat with timecode out.
Not all of them do. -
Yeah thats a HUGE point a lot of people don’t even think about.
I monitor through a Dell 24″ LCD.
What I’ve done is calibrated it as close as possible to our
SD-SDI Sony CRT. The contrast and brightness is nearly spot on.
The LCD color is nearly spot on, but a little more saturated.That seems to be as close as I can get.
Now if your someone who works on Feature Films that are actual wide
release, you’d have to spend the bucks and do it right. But for everything
else this should suffice. -
Anthony, we took posession of a Multibridge Extreme a few weeks ago.
We monitor on a Dell 24″ LCD. Great piece of hardware!To answer your question, inside the box was a DVI-D to HDMI adapter.

If your asking me, its a quad g5 with the factory installed 16x pci express card. having pci-express helps things a long in a very big way.

Pioneer BRD-01 comes out in april/may (i’ve heard)
It will burn Blu-Ray single layer only 25GB discs.
Retail msrp is around $ 800.
Dual layer 50GB capability will be in the next model in the fall/winter.I know nothing of HD-DVD rom drives. Toshiba announced a laptop
drive but thats all I’ve heard as far as that.
