    Hi guys,

Hope you can advice if you experience any problem using the FCP 5.0.4 Media Manager for consolidating of media files ?

Is there an article which I can refer to, for step-by-step instructions ?

    Cheers

The best advice on how to use it is don’t use it.

David, is it buggy or hogging resources?

Seems everytime an NLE mfg makes a media manager feature, its broken right out of the box and buggy at best.

Its simply not reliable. You can end up with an entire hodge podge including missing clips. I’d rather buy a slew of hard drives and save everything than play scavenger hunt. Its really f’d-up, D-Vision Pro, operating under DOS, had foolproof consolidation over a dozen years ago. Apple really needs to make all of its media management tools work once and for all.

The brand new release of FCP adresses some of these issues. If you plan on relying upon Media Manager, you would want to upgrade now.
