Been reading the manual, It says you should never have a still image in 4:3 mode to avoid those lines on the sides as someone just pointed out. You get around it by adjusting the brightness of the pillars and using the screensaver.
any of you owners out there, would appreciate input from you on what you use for screensaver settings to prevent after images and burn in.

We typically only use our dell 24″ for HD viewing and I suspect more often than not we’ll use our sony pro crt for 4:3 though I know everyone is going to want the plasma on.one last thing
is it true that this unit will pillar box with gray colors on the sides instead of black? -

We’re in portland oregon, so i might look into that dealer in seattle.
I don’t need/want a tuner, speakers or stand, so I’ll stick with the 9UK.
I was thinking about the HD-SDI and HDMI option cards, but decided to just stick with component analog (thats what Walter is using)

Does the 9uk have a screen saver to prevent burn in?
What would be considered an extended time that would burn in an image?When you play 4:3 are you stuck with gray pillar boxes or can you change them to black?
