HDRSR1 Or HDRHC3 for Final cut??
Hi, I have been looking closely at both high definition sony cameras, the HDRSR1 with a 30GB internal HDD and HDRHC3 camera using HDV MiniDV tapes. I have found quite a few differing opinions and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which would be the best for capturing optimum audio and video quality for editing in final cut.
I have heard that the HDV mini DV tape camera was a better option because of the ability to import video as uncompressed, but after reading cnet reviews an expert stated that MiniDV is simply mpeg 2 encoding.
After reading more of the specs of the HDRSR1, I noted that it compressed the video into the new MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format.
I was under the impression mini dv was uncompressed and of a higher quality than anything that was compressed, but I must be mistaken.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Basically I am after the camera with best audio and video quality and seamless integration into FCP.
Thank you for your time in advance.
