Hey David,
I just purchased the 50″ 9UK from visual apex last week.
In my research/prep work in anticipation of its delivery last week, I documented some things (screensaver info too)
“Go to screen saver menu, turn on wobbling in screen saver menu, number 2 setting. (this is a pixel shift)”
Are you doing the 100 hour burnin with the burnin dvd image from avs?

Shane can that be imported in fcp?
I can’t count how many times I’ve wanted a logging app that would work from a pc or mac just to do the laborious task of making capture logs, so I don’t have to waste time on the edit system doing it.

Sounds like you need the HDV codec.
I think you can only get that with a fcp install.

It will be interesting to see how many cores you have to assign to get good performance on the virtual machine without bogging down your local desktop.
I’ve tinkered with vmware for years. Its pretty amazing how well it works.
But I’ve found on single cpu systems even with a gig of ram, it still slows down the host system to the point where production is stifled. -

Not according to Graeme Natress (a respected fcp plugin author)
Just grade it in HDV then export it as uncompressed.
There should be no visual loss.

I’m about to purchase a pro hd plasma from panasonic (50inch 9uk model)
with the hdmi input board option.Will there be a problem mapping to its resolution from my multibridge extreme dvi out with the hdmi adapter?

yeah, I’m definitely getting the right one made for the deck.
looks like B&H has them for a reasonable cost.
