Importing & Exporting Log and Capture Data
Is there a way that I can export XML data for a batch capture list so that I can re-import it at a later date?

Just save the project file. Then you can open it and capture whenever you need.

I know I can do this but I need to be able to use xml data or something similar because i’m trying to write a third party app to assist in log and capturing. The idea is someone does a paper edit using this tool and in turn it generates the xml log sheet for importing into final cut.

There is an Excel spreadsheet template available at http://www.larryjordan.biz that I have used on many an ocassion. Not XML, but a form that you can type into.

Shane can that be imported in fcp?
I can’t count how many times I’ve wanted a logging app that would work from a pc or mac just to do the laborious task of making capture logs, so I don’t have to waste time on the edit system doing it.
