    Hi,

Not totally sure I understand what you’re asking. If you’re asking “How do I import multiple files?” then you go to File>Import and when the dialog box comes up, you can select as many files as you want.

If you’re asking, “How do I make Avid treat a sequence of still images as frames making up a clip?” then you have to give the files seqential names (file001.jpg, file002.jpg, etc) and select “Autodetect sequential files” during import.

Hopefully one of those answered your question.

    good luck,
    Carl

Try putting a paint effect on the top layer of whatever you’re trying to blend. There are overlay options under the drop down menu in the effect editor window. (Sorry, I’m not in front of a machine right now, so this isn’t very precise.)

    good luck,

    Hi,

Here’s a link to some troubleshooting tips. They’re written for Adrenaline, but they all apply to XPro, too.

    good luck,

    Hi,

See the track lights in the timeline? They’re the little purple squares that say V1 and A1 and A2 on them? If you turn off A1 and A2 on the source side (left side), then the source audio tracks won’t be laid in on the record side.

    Hopefully that made sense.

    good luck,
    Carl

Search these forums, because this question comes up about once a week, and you’ll get a lot of opinions in favor of any solution you’d like to use.

What it boils down to is this:

    1) Do YOU want to use a PC or a Mac? Whatever you answered, buy that.

    2) What editing program do YOU like? You say you’re using Discreet now. Do you like it? Are you fast on it? Then buy it.

Every editing program and computer OS has advantages and disadvantages. There’s no way to determine exactly what you need for a particular workflow, because everyone has personal preferences based on their situation.

You’re going to be stuck with whatever decision you make, so make it yourself.

    good luck,
    Carl

  • Hi Roc,

Check Special>Render-On-the-Fly and make sure it’s turned on. This is what tells the system to show your changes as you make them.

    good luck,

Not sure if this works on XDV, but on Adrenaline to go frame by frame in segment mode you press and hold the ALT key while dragging.

    good luck,
