some shader things have changed between versions but shaders are just loaded – check out File/Load Materials in the Material Manager, they don’t need to be put anywhere special (unless they have been grouped into a .lib4d file then they go in the Library/Browser etc)

No results with inertia vector yet but a couple thoughts occur

-Dynamics is what you are after, can you use Dynamics (soft spring or something), Mocca (I’m thinking the dinosaur tail tutorial here), or a dynamic spline tag with Hair (probably a pain)

-how about faking it? copy the spline that the target object is likely following, paste that and tweek it to fake inertia then attach the camera to that.

absolutely, open the F-Curve editor and select the keyframes of the path you want control over (all of them if you want) then set Interpolation L and Interpolation R to Custom (you can do it to a bunch of them not just one at a time). Just be sure to get all 3 values (X, Y, Z) for a given keyframe or the path doesn’t get handles in the editor window

The manual has the best description (Texture Mapping/Texture Tag/Selection – pg 869 of the v9 manual) but basically you just choose the poly’s you want to have a particular texture, do a Selection/Set Selection (which makes a selection tag). Add the texture to the object, then drag the selection tag you just made into the Selection box of the Texture tag.

if you have not got them yet, go to Maxon’s Downloads/Materials & Goodies section and get the Thinking Particles Presets Library and the 9.5.2 Library which contains another set of TP presets as well
