is body paint the only way to selectively shade parts of a polygon, or is there another work flow. I am trying to figure out how i could for example have say a cube, and be able to apply different shaders to each side. thsnks

The manual has the best description (Texture Mapping/Texture Tag/Selection – pg 869 of the v9 manual) but basically you just choose the poly’s you want to have a particular texture, do a Selection/Set Selection (which makes a selection tag). Add the texture to the object, then drag the selection tag you just made into the Selection box of the Texture tag.
