something like this could work if that’s what you mean.

pfrag in TP is also a possible choice

you can also scale the liquid up a bit (just into the glass)

I think he’s thinking of a ‘balloon inside a cage’ sort of thing, bulging out between the bars.

Cloth would be the way if there was a way to apply a Radial wind or Radial negative gravity but there isn’t that I know of. Dynamics has the radial forces to use but the cloth there is too finicky for that. Unless some other solution is out there it’s likely a modeling thing.

are you using the Animation settings in GI or can you bake the GI? Otherwise flickering is a given since the default settings are for stills.

yes but give the ‘panel’ (I assume a Plane) enough Segments that it bends smoothly

is it possible to simplify? Why are you using planes with image/alphas with an extrude underneath and not just applying the image to the face of the extrude?

in the Solver’s Details tab check ‘Collision Use Rest Speed’ and set the Collision Rest Speed to something that works (depends on he scale of the scene)

Wrap Deformer but make sure the extrude uses Regular Grid on the Caps with a fairly small value so it all wraps smoothly. The size and latitude and longitude settings control the amount of wrap. Radius just controls the final sphere size.

Software shading? Why not Open GL?
