  • Snap animated object to grid / Quantize movement?

    Hi all,

I’d like to know if there is a way thru Xpresso to force an animated objects’ position to snap to a grid? By this I mean i’d like to animate the position of the object in a regular fashion, but have it snap to a certain grid spacing to give it a jumpy movement.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated since i’m not all that familiar with Xpresso.

    Thx

Turn your Keyframes interpolation to STEP rather than the default linear. Do this by selecting the keyfames in the timeline and in the option appears in the attributes manager.

I am not to sure about the grid snapping maybe maybe Brian or Adam can help you out there.

    Hi Brian,

Many thanks for that. It’s exactly what I need to achieve. Really good of you to create the Xpresso. Much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Andy

p.s: Know how to do similar in AE? 😉
