Yes.
Put the clip in the Viewer.
Click on it, then go to
Modify (menu) > Timecode… > Source TC (type in a new TC number)
OR you could leave the “Source TC” unchanged and add an “Aux TC”

I’ve been editing for decades.
I TALK to my clients thoughout the session.
I say things like< "I've got to render this... still rendering... come on, render, little guy, render... almost done. Ahh, here it is."

SD can look absolutely TERRIBLE on an HDTV LCD monitor.
If you want to know how SD “actually” looks… a good CRT is still the way.

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

Good call!
But, its a funny thing, this does not ALWAYS matter.
Sometimes (MOST times) the camcorder will sense the incoming DV signal and ignore this setting, regardless of position.
But a FEW times the camera MIGHT not switch to incoming DV without changing this setting.I’ve had it happen both ways… with the SAME camcorder!
MANY camcorders can’t “transcode” A-to-D in realtime and/or do not even HAVE this setting (many Sony’s DO), so it doesn’t matter.
But, its a fine idea to check for it if the “DV-in” from the Mac is not working.

That reminds me:
Digital Juice has acknowledged a problem with a shipment (or several) of discs that had MISSING ELEMENTS.
Are you sure there IS an Aplha Channel on the effect in question.
DJ will send a replacement if you find you have a problem disc.

Edit your timeline with all cuts.
Make SURE all of your clips have enoughy OVERLAPPING media to allow for the proper transition time.Make the “Default Transition” what you want to use between all of your clips.
Duplicate your timeline and save a “clean” version (or two) “just in case.”
Click on the timeline and SELECT ALL (so the entire timeline is selected).
“Drag and Drop” the entire timeline back into the Canvas Window area called “Overwrite with Transition”.
All of the cuts will take on the “Default Transition”.

He didn’t say he WAS going to supply the gear, and in my experience that means the SHOOTER supplies it.
