I don’t know much about it, but most subtitle prep tools aren’t that intuitive when you start out.
(A lot of specific functions for subtitle creation are not needed for normal text editing)
Of course i like my tool the best. Have a look at this:

What could be the case is the following:
(i got bitten by this quite recently)
Interlaced video starts and ends on half a line.
Thus, if you blur it, every other field has slightly more black in it.
You’ll notice it by flicker left top/right bottom.
Solution: crop 1 or two lines top and bottom before applying the Magic Bullet effect.

No idea why this is happening, but it’s a bad idea anyways.
OMF has a file size limit, and you will reach that quite fast.
If you want to take all media, link to it rather than embed.
(dunno the options for that from memory, but you’ll find it…)

There is no other way. Also, the rubberbanding does not come across on OMF export for sound post.
Bottom line, behave like any Avid editor, use the normal mixer, razor your clips and put dissolves on match frame edits if you want a fade up/down during a clip.
Also, place dissolves on begin/end of a clip if you want a fade.
Next you will start cursing on how those begin/end fades disappear when you move clips.
It’s the avid way. Do not swim against the stream or you’ll get nuts. (got multiple T-shirts…)

Im facing a similar problem with 24 to 25, with a 12-13 pulldown. (every alternating 12 / 13 frame a frame is introduced with one field duplicated. Thus i have interlaced frames on half of them (or, field reversed progressive frames)

What i’m working on right now is kinda complicated, but fun.
Using a key image (1 pixel horizontal black/white lines) to key the original with the original at a 1 frame offset.
Thus restoring the field reversed frames.

Next is a macro to cut out the unwanted frames.

You could do something similar, but if the cadence is not constant you will go nuts….

Pac and 890 are not public, the formats are owned by Screen and Cavena.
However, i’ve reversed engineerd the .Pac format.
And, i’ve made XML support for FCP as well, so this is what you need:

i have no idea what is happening, but nevertheless:
You cut the framerate in exactly half. So no worries there, it just displays half the frames in exact the same time. No worries there.
DF and NDF do NOTHING for the total duration of the show. It’s just that the timecode is different after two minutes, that’s all.
If the syncmarks at begin and end match, you did everything right. Now i do not know how you exported, but if there is a DF / NDF mixup in the export, you should experience bigger off-sync problems on clips that are taken from the end of long ingested clips. If that is the case, you know where to look. If that is NOT the case, your audio guy messed up.
(and it can happen, i have had a very high end audio post company shifting my clips 3 frames out sync cause they thought it was better. I disagreed…)
