I’m looking in my xtal ball and can’t find any answers, could you supply your computer specs, particularly whether your computer is using a on-board firewire or a firewire card, and if a card what chipset?

Usually problem video should be played back in the cam that made it, You say the DV cam doesn’t have firewire, What country are you in?

.DV files are an Apple codec, you can try opening them in QT7 and converting them.

Have you looked at the Voice Over listed in the product manual? also the built-in Help in Ppro?

What are you using for project setting in Ppro? A preset or custome settings?

Rendering what, timeline or encoding?

GPU support is only for certain effects, you will find these listed under GPU in the Effects and Transitions menus.

Like mentioned there could be raid problems, easy solution is to run apps from a descrete drive, running apps from a raid is a waste as once that app is loaded there is very little action on the array unless you are also keeping data on it which sometimes can cause other problems.
