I don’t plan on using Vista on any editing machine unless required by the software apps.

If using photoshop to work on the stills, its best to use its video presets to presize before import, if using motion controls in Ppro to pan or zoom it helps to use even multiples of the presets for image sizes, also formats like bmp, tif and tga tend to work best

To add to what Vicent said, If you want to count to zero and have the clock disappear after zero, cut the clip at 3min,1sec, apply effect, set the effect offset to -90 frames.

Was your old video card a non nvidia card? or a much older nvidia one? you may
need to unload the old drivers before installing the new drivers.

The above went out before I finished, like I saying it conforms with the project specs, if the audio doesn’t match it will try to convert but it may not work right particularly if its a non-standard sample/bit rate combo.

[R Summerfield] “My incomming audio is 48000Hz, 12 bit.”
12Bit audio is usually 32khz, so if you’re sure the audio is 12bit use a 32khz project setting and see if that cures the problem.

[Skeeter] “My Premiere is working fine, Completely normal… its everything else doesn’t work.
Somehow, the only program (including Windows) that is giving me audio playback/sound effects is my PPro2.”

Have you checked to see if your other programs are configured enabled to your sound system?
Ex: In Media Player you goto the Tool dropdown menu and select options and see what devices are being used for sound and check the advanced settings, other programs may have a Preferences instead of options or maybe a device listing in one of their dropdown menus.

Does your project audio settings match your imported audio specss? EX: Project audio setting is 16bit 48khz, is your audio import the same or is it 44.1khz cd audio, 32khz 12bit, etc.

  • 1.Cards that have DVI connectors usually come with adapters for use with VGA

2.If I remmember correctly its just a small difference in clock speed for the GPU, the major difference is in who manufactured it, the difference can be in warranty and how the board handles tweaking, do a net search for GS7800 Extreme and see what you find.
