Hi, Has anybody any experience using a nVidia GeForce 7800 GS 256MB AGP Graphics card with Premiere? I am thinking of buying one and was wondering if anybody knows if it is any good or not for Adobe apps. I will be running 2 monitors off it to have a desktop stretched across them both.

    Thanks

The Adobe specs say full support for this card. The reviews ar all great, I haven’t read on yet that specifies any problems with it. I prdered one today because I believe with my ATI 700Pro Premiere Pro will not boot up all the way. I’ll let you know when I get it.

I am using the 7800 on one of my systems without an issue.

    1. Am I right in thinking I can connect 2 standard monitors to the card. All the pictures I have seen show a VGA connector and a DVI connector???? I want to connect 2 VGA screens.

    2. What is the difference between the standard card and the extreme edition???

    Thanks again

1.Cards that have DVI connectors usually come with adapters for use with VGA

2.If I remmember correctly its just a small difference in clock speed for the GPU, the major difference is in who manufactured it, the difference can be in warranty and how the board handles tweaking, do a net search for GS7800 Extreme and see what you find.

I’ve got the PCIe version of the 7800GT, it has two DVI outputs and a vivo port. Came with two dvi to vga adapters. I absolutely love this card, and eventually I may buy a second and use the SLi link for even a bit more power (apparently it overclocks well too)
