clock countdown??
Posted by Ryan on November 27, 2006 at 10:40 pmi want to be able to create a digital clock countdown on top of a video. I own premiere 2.0 Pro, and im pretty sure i can’t do this within the software. Does anyone know of any other software in which i can set a countdown clock and then lay it on top of a video?/

November 28, 2006 at 1:33 amHow long do you need that count down to be ? Do you just need hours / Min / Sec ?
That can be done pretty easily in After Effects. If you don’t own it, I can probably make a clip for you, depending on how long it has to be…

November 28, 2006 at 1:46 amActually, I take it back, you could make one in Premiere, sometimes genius strikes me 😉
1- File > New > Transparent video
2- Apply the Timecode effect to it.
3- Now the good part… Use the offset setting to bring your timecode into the negative, how ever far you need it to be so that it counts down.
4- Apply the crop effect to get rid of the digits you don’t need, such as frames or hours.

November 28, 2006 at 4:24 pmTo add to what Vicent said, If you want to count to zero and have the clock disappear after zero, cut the clip at 3min,1sec, apply effect, set the effect offset to -90 frames.
