Replying from my editing station equipped with a 61″ DLP by Samsung.
I have color corrected my monitor and it looks gorgeous. The extra real-estate is phenomenal.

Best thing about DLP technology… lot cheaper than LCD and certainly Plasma. Runs cool as well

    Good Luck

Add a Pan envelope to the Audio track for the stereo affect your looking for. Vegas also supports 5.1, to enable this change your audo property in your Veg file to 5.1.

When I’m looking for something that pops without having to spend a lot of time I use Proanimator. I paid $350 for this SW back in 2007, it’s nearly twice the cost now OUCH!

When I’m looking for something to augment the capabilities of Vegas I use After Affects. After Affects is expensive and worth every penny as it can add production value that is hard to achieve with other applications.

I had never before considered opening media on the timeline in the trimmer:-)

Q:I don’t understand how to bring-up ‘Add Audio Across Time’. Seems this would save the step of synchronizing by moving.

    Cheers

I’m a little flabbergasted to try and guess what kind of workflow your using that would propagate a problem of this magnitude considering the audio and video is grouped unless you decide to ‘ungroup’ it.

The only scenario I can see is poor workflow on j/l-cuts. When using them don’t ungroup before making the cut. Split the clip, ungroup the leading/trailing and delete the desired audio/video. Using the selection editing tool select all media associated with the cut and group.

In your workflow don’t allow red-highlighted audio, aka flagged as un-synched. If you do your cuts properly this should very rarely occur. In the event you have a situation where you know audio will be flagged as unsynched and this is what you want on the timeline, select the media, right-click and set a tape-name to unsynched or lock the event if you can. This way you have flagged this portion of the project as unsynched, yet acceptable.

Had the same issue in 8.0c only difference was the media was a still picture, not moving images. I had to remove the tainted media from the project media list AND the HD and restore from my backup to resolve.

When I have media groupings that require consistency of effects I do it at the track level.

When I want the same effects on a different clip I use paste event attributes.

Perhaps your asking the questions as MTS clips don’t display a thumbnail in explorer as AVI and other common file formats do. If so one way to work around this is to select all the clips, right click and add them to the project media list. To view the thumbnails goto project media.
