I had a price point in mind when I built my system. Foregoing the most expensive processor was essentially a free hard-drive. System has been, well phenomenal:-)
Good luck

Another way with less video tracks and complexity.
1)Use your favorite photo editor to draw a line on your map, start to finish.
2)Insert two video tracks one with the line another without one on top of another.
3)Use a cookie cutter ‘cut away section’ starting size zero (frame 1) ending size max (last frame) if the map without line is on top. Change the cookie cutter to ‘Cut away all but selection’ if the map with line is on top with starting size max and ending size zero.
Cheers.

I experienced similar issues several times in version 8.x. Every time I had to figure out what file(s) were the problem, delete them and re-copy them from the backup.
Good luck

Is anyone willing to validate this for me on your editing bay? Shouldn’t take but a minute or two. Error occurs when you repeatedly press ‘3’ aka trimming one frame at a time.
Thx

no your jpegs are placed on the timeline at the resolution of the source media.

The pre-render folder is irrelevant as far as performance goes, matter of choice. When I had all external drives I left it on C: Now that I have all internal drives I moved it.
Although Raid 0 is the fastest setup most users are going to see marginal gains. It’s not worth the hassle in my opinion. With that said I still plan on benchmarking as Raid 0 with my new system. I’ll post numbers.

Your setup is the same I have been using for years. Three drives, local (C:), Source (S:) and Render (R:). You should also have a master (m:) drive as a source backup. I use a G-Tech Raid drive. I also never delete footage off my camera unless I have to as yet again another backup.
Vegas is a non-destructive Non-Linear-Editor (NLE). This means that nothing is changed at the source for any files that go on the timeline; so no they won’t be moved to c:
In the >Tools >preferences >general there is a location for temporary files. I set this to my render drive just to keep things consistent.
Cheers

Without a doubt Cineform was the most difficult SW I have ever encountered to register and activate. Serial Numbers, activation Codes, System Codes, Voodoo dolls, secret handshakes, etc. If I didn’t have so much legacy content in this format I would have deep-sixed this weeks ago!
I uninstalled and reinstalled AFTER the AC3 Codec was installed. This seem to satisfy the beast:)
Thanks; as always
