I will be creating a slideshow in Vegas and will be importing jpgs.

I want to be able to pan across an images so I can reveal only parts at a time. ie. zoom in on one’s face, pause, then pan/slide to another face in the same photo.

Will I lose resolution when I zoom? or is the original resolution of my image retained? I guess I’m wondering if my photo gets down-resolutioned when it’s imported.

    Thanks for any tips

no your jpegs are placed on the timeline at the resolution of the source media.

Make sure to use Pan/Crop for doing this as Track Motion automatically resizes everything to your project resolution.
It’s great for making stills/video smaller but definitely not bigger.

    Thanks Mike.

I’ll do as you suggest and use pan/crop to maintain the res of the source jpgs.

    Thanks again!
