Downloaded Neoscene for my new build. Near the end of the installation I received a warning that no AC3 encoder was installed on my system. After installing the codec they recommended the installation finished without error. Upon opening a project with previously encoded AVI files with Cineform I received a media error with a string of numbers. Alas the Cineform Codec isn’t available to encode with.

Q1: Certainly an AC3 codec is included with Vegas 10.0?
Q2: Certainly an AC3 coded should be included with Cineform?

Just to start getting to square-1 I need to powerup my old editing bay and figure out what AC3 Codec I was using:-(

Cineform recommend this AC3 encoder (no they don’t ship with one):

Without a doubt Cineform was the most difficult SW I have ever encountered to register and activate. Serial Numbers, activation Codes, System Codes, Voodoo dolls, secret handshakes, etc. If I didn’t have so much legacy content in this format I would have deep-sixed this weeks ago!

I uninstalled and reinstalled AFTER the AC3 Codec was installed. This seem to satisfy the beast:)

    Thanks; as always
