How do you JOIN 2 video files for editing as one file
Posted by Ana maria Suarez on October 23, 2010 at 12:40 amHi
In premiere, you can take 2 video files as one, and select join. That way if you add an effect or crop one, the same effect goes onto the joined file.
I can’t figure out how to do that in Vegas.

October 23, 2010 at 2:19 amIf the events are from two different files, you can’t. You can set them up on the timeline and do a render to a new track, then they will be a new, single video file.

October 23, 2010 at 3:43 amWhen I have media groupings that require consistency of effects I do it at the track level.
When I want the same effects on a different clip I use paste event attributes.

October 23, 2010 at 4:05 amYou can also just butt them up next to each other on the timeline, selct both by holding down the control key, then hit the “G” key to lock them together. When you move one, the other will move with it, even the accociated audio, and you don’t have to render. Danny Hays

October 23, 2010 at 2:02 pmYes, but the OP wants to do event effects and event pan/crop. Groups won’t help him with this.

October 25, 2010 at 3:43 amCreate a new Vegas project. Add all the files you want, in the order you like, and save as a .veg file. Then load that .veg file into your main project. It will behave as a single media file.
