Those are not bezier curves. They’re logarithmic curves. Audio is logarithmic by nature, not linear.
If you want to decrease your audio by a constant amount of decibels, it will not sound like a constant fade. If you want the perceived volume to fade consistently, the audio curve will not be linear. It’s not FCP, it’s physics.

[Dale Larsen] “he is requesting that the media I am delivering be in 16 bit color, in any format HD (h264) HDV, DVC Pro HD”
These are all 8 bit formats, if he really wants these formats, he’s not going to get 16 bits. If he really wants 16 bits, he’s not going to get any of these formats.
[Dale Larsen] “or just good old DV/ DVC pro ntsc.”
Which are SD formats. And 8 bits.
If your client really wants 16 bits, then he wants a TIFF or DPX (linear color) image sequence. If he can’t use an image sequence, then he can’t use 16 bit media.

[Rachel Fletcher] “The footage was shot with a Canon XH A1, 60 fps, HDV1080i.”
That would be a really neat trick, since that camera shoots at 29.97 FPS. There is no HDV camera that shoots 1080i at 60 frames per second.
I would refer you to whatever manual that came with the camera to clarify.

[Reinhard Lorenz] “I’m on FCP 7.0.2 with a standard built in DVD burner. “
If you want to burn a Blu-Ray disk, you need a Blu-Ray burner. Either you would replace the DVD burner in your Mac, or you’d buy an external FW or USB burner.

If you’re running Color, get the ATI Radeon 2600 or 4870. If not, look at the Nvidia GT series cards.

If you’re trying to reproduce a workflow from your former platform, you will only cause yourself pain & hurt. I would recommend that you forget everything you know about onlining in M100 and open up the FCP manual to read about the Media Manager and the Log & Capture tools and how they relate to the offline-online workflow.
Also, as David says, there will be no visible difference in using ProRes “SQ” vs uncompressed. It’s a 10-bit codec comparable to Avid’s 10-bit DNxHD codec. Redigitizing at 8-bit uncompressed may actually be of less quality, showing banding in gradients, and 10-bit UC will look the same. I’ve checked this on video scopes.
If you originally digitized as ProRes “SQ” or “HQ”, just finish your show & lay it off to beta.

Go to your nearest camera store and see if they’ll let you shoot some video onto your own memory card. It may help if you buy the card there & then.

2 things. Your deck may be in local, it should be in remote. And your capture preset should be for Betacam, not SMPTE/N10. Beta decks have different levels than SMPTE/N10.
