I’ve graded EX3 native footage in Color. The only problem I had (and I also had this with HDV footage) was that there were often 1 or 2 black frames at the end of a clip that came out of Color, which also caused exports to crash. The workaround is to simply render with handles, moving the black frames out to the unused part of the shot.

You should check with whoever is making your DCP. Typically, I think that they will change the gamma when they convert to XYZ color space.

You probably just need a driver for the network card. And you’ll need some DVD player software, not Window Media Player. Try VLC from videolan.org

Very cute, but I had enough of it by the 3rd or 4th clip.
You can do that in FCP using the Motion tab to move each clip. You might speed things up by copying & pasting attributes from the 1st clip to all the others.
It’s easier in AE by parenting everything to one clip & moving that clip. It’s easier still in Motion by placing everything into a single layer & moving that layer, probably with just a Throw behavior.
Regardless of which you choose, it’s fairly complicated, so I’m going to recommend that you get out your manuals & start reading up on those features.

Do you mean the HDX900? If so, why not just use a mount adapter & attach a 400mm or 600mm tele right on the HDX900? That would really be much simpler than trying to match the codecs, gamma, frame rates & other characteristics of these two different cameras.
BTW, you’ll need additional support for a lens that big on the HDX900.

It sounds like you downloaded a demo. You probably have to pay for it to get the whole clip.

Motion has very good tracking and matchmoving. I would do it there.
Be aware that if you can’t do this in Motion, you’ll probably have to use something more specialized like Motor or Mocha from Imagineer.

20 hours of HDV footage will take up less than 225GB of storage space. Down converting to DV will gain you nothing, since DV has the same data rate as HDV. ProRes Proxy will take up about 1/2 the space. “Regular” ProRes will take up a little over 1TB, BTW.
Unless you’re planning to go to a facility for your online, I wouldn’t bother doing an offline. Simply buy a couple of extra 1TB FW drives and capture everything from day 1 as “plain vanilla” ProRes.

DVCPro is the same codec as DV. DVCPro 50 is 4:2:2 color space & much less compressed.
