The book is dead. Long live the ebook.

And won’t it make for funky shaped touch screen controllers.

Not by a long shot. An eBook is the last thing I want when I’m out on the beach or sitting by the pool on a cruise. eBooks are sweet but not a complete book replacement yet. Besides, nothing beats being able to hold a book and flip through the pages. Love reading on my iPad, but still doesn’t beat a real book.

Hell vinyl records are making a comeback and the iPod / MP3 players were supposedly going to kill off all record stores. Hasn’t happened.

Perhaps I should point out that I love to stir the pot and should put a 🙂 TIC more often to make my sense of humour more obvious. Of course I agree with you Walter about the book comment, but the curved touch screen controller idea is actually a serious thought.

How about an ergonomic hand held device, a bit like a mouse but totally programmable as a touch screen. Remote controllers built into furniture become possible.

Walter, you don’t sound like a guy who takes those kind of vacations. You always sound too busy for that kind of stuff. 🙂

    I’m with Walter.
With an e-book you can not feel the pleasure of burning or throwing through the window a bad book.

That’s why when I do take a vacation, we take long ones and make them count. Planning to be in Europe next year.

Also I have been building up an incredible creative team at our facility that can run the place when i’m gone. That’s a huge plus, especially with the new facility coming online later this year.
