It’s the Radeon x800;) I just ordered one yesterday from Club Mac. $304.61 shipped. They have them in stock. I think Otherworld may have them in stock, as well, but for around $20 more.

Put the image you want to blur in it’s own layer. Apply the blur to that layer, not the object. Select the Layer tab in the inspector & check the box to make the layer “Fixed Resolution” with the resolution equal to that of your comp settings. The blur should now spread out past the edges of the gear’s bounding box.
You’ll find that many effects work better on layers than the objects inside them. Or that you can apply an effect, mask or transform to several objects at once by dropping them into a single layer. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find that it can be a powerful option- when it’s not annoying!

Buy Photoshop Extreme. I belive you can open a QT movie or an image sequence directly as a single file.

There are only 2 differences between Sony’s medical & pro video monitors. The MD in the model number, & the rep that sells it to the distributors. Otherwise, they are identical in features & performance.

You see this on your NTSC monitor? Or just the computer monitor? Your footage is interlaced. You need to view it on an interlaced monitor for it to look normal.

It’s really just as compressed.
In DVCPro HD, 720P60 and 1080i30 are both compressed at a data rate 100mbps. An uncompressed frame of 720 is around 1 million pixels, 60 times a second and uncompressed frame of 1080 is around 2 million pixels, 30 times a second. So 720P60 and 1080i30 are roughly the same number of pixels per second, compressed to 100mbps. 720 24PN simply records fewer frames to the card but at the same data rate per frame as 60P.
Confusing enough for you? It makes my ears bleed just a little writing this!

That makes no sense. Black Magic Designs, the makers of the Decklink cards, is an Australian company. Australia is a PAL country. Saying that Decklink doesn’t do PAL is like saying you can’t find any decent tofu in China.
Check to make sure that you’ve installed all of the Decklink presets to FCP. I suspect that you’ve only installed the NTSC ones.

FWIW, I almost never install drivers off of the cd or DVD that ships with a product. Any product. Scanner, PCI board, turbocharger, anything. The only time I use the driver shipped with a product is if I can’t find one on their website.
Good manufacturers work to improve their products. With computer peripherals & expansion cards, that often means driver updates. The Kona card (or turbocharger) that you buy could have been boxed up many months ago, and I’d like to think that they’ve been working to upgrade what it does, or how well it plays. Also, the drivers in the box may not be for your version system software. Or who knows?
I always check to see if there’s a newer or more appropriate driver than the one in the box.
