Your Welcome. Thanks for adding more details. It sure is a intermittent issue at times, so hard to pin it down for QE to solve. If I come across any more fixes in our bays, I’ll post back.

Hi Bob,
Went down this rat hole a few weeks back and came across some solutions regarding the removal of the DVCPROHDoutput codec in the Quicktime Library. I removed it on some of our bays, but still see this issue popping back up in the activity monitor from day to day.

https://forums.adobe.com/message/6561278#6561278You can also apply the new ProApps Codec pack from Apple (https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1396 ) if the machine has any of the Apple aps on it (FCPX or Compressor).
Adobe is aware of the issue, thus the blog posts above.
We had some playback issues with our older AJA Kona cards and upgraded to the latest drivers. It has helped, but still needed extra fine tuning with the help of AJA support call.

Interesting comments Herb. We have a ton of installs of the PNY K4000 version on our Macs. Is your comment in relation to a Hackintosh or a regular Mac install? I’d be interested in knowing what issues you have been going through with the card.

Under Preferences / Playback you can choose an offset.

Premiere has OMF export if you are on CC2014.
Other option, round trip your audio to Audition and export the stems to send to your sound designer. Just put in some tone on the front end to have a consistent marker you can re-sync up when you get tracks back.

No, you should select Open CL for your D700’s.

Don’t have a copy of CS6 around, but in 2014 its one of buttons below the timecode numbers in your sequence.

Could you check to see if your project files defaulted to the documents / adobe folder after you installed the new version.

One more thing Brian…… We do have an 8 Core w/ D500’s as well in the graphics department and no problems at all with CC 2014 (not yet upgraded to 2014.1 blue release)

Our Mac Pro’s are the 6 core D500’s flavor as well. Have a 4K pilot in the works and the editor has 4 stream multi cam F55 4K footage mixed with r3d files playing back fine to a 12TB Thunderbolt raid. I’m wondering if there is an issue with D700 Open CL drivers on the 12 cores?
