To capture audio channels you need to supply a token video source for the audio to be embedded to. The token source should be the format you are working with. Blackvideo or sync as input via the SDI would work OK.
email support@blackmagic-design.com if you have any more questions.

August 21, 2006 at 4:30 am in reply to: Problem with audio input on multibridge extremeMultibrridge Extreme requires a token video source to be supplied to capture audio channels accurately. The token video source should match the format of your project.
Audio channels are embedded with the video stream to remain syncronized. The ‘token Video’ can be black video or any source that matches the format.
If you have any further questions please let me know.

The main difference is resolution.
HDV is 1440 x 1080 – where as HD is 1920 x 1080.
Uncompressed HD from a HD camera or Deck contains more image information.
HDV – Compressed sampling rate is 8 bit 4:2:0 — where as Uncompressed 8 or 10bit is sampled at 4:2:2. To the human eye this looks brighter color is richer.
The Decklink HD Extreme permits the capturing from Analog audio source while capturing Digital video. SDI video with a seperate audio tracks.
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/connections/index.asp?prodID=18The connectivity it offers your machine is also worth considering the majority or cameras and decks are then available for you to work with, while still keeping the firewire port.

You can use the Decklilnk 5.6 installer as a codec only installation package.
I recommend trying this first. If the issue persists please email me @ pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com
Please include your system specification and your workflow format at codecs being used.
Thank you

DirectX9.0, SP2, Quicktime 6.5 or 7.x and Decklink 5.6
If the issue persists – please send me you system specifications including motherboard make and model to pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com
Bill is correct in saying that 1.5.1 has some limitations however it should not blow apart randomly.

Tri-Sync
You can use the signal passing through a multibridge on the analog componet output. G/Y.
It is possible to capture and playback via SDI without using Tri-sync.
Larger installations with numerous devices that require sync then yes.Monitoring HD via an LCD screen requires the screen to support at least 1920 x 1080 pixels or else it will scale or clip the image.
