Anyone getting “No Video Input” flashing on PCIe Decklink cards?
Posted by Peter Corbett on June 17, 2006 at 4:45 amI’m on my second HD Extreme PCI-e card with the same problem. When entering capture in Premiere, I get the occasional one frame flash of “No Video Input”. This occurs on two different setups. I’ve moved from a Gigabyte GA-G1975X to a certified ASUS P5WD2. The only common denominator is the RAM, Wacom and power supply. I’ve tried house sync and no sync, all analog and SDI inputs, different decks, you name it. Drivers from 5.5 to 5.6.
It’s got me totally beat. Black Magic has looked at the first card and couldn’t find a fault. If I install a standard PCI Decklink SDI card it captures fine on both motherboards. Jeesh!!!!

June 18, 2006 at 1:04 pmhi Peter,
I have the same probleme with my decklink card. It’s a HD Pro dual link, and i have no sdi video input.
You are not the only one to have this probleme, and i don’t find an issue to this probleme.
If you resolve your problem, i’m also interrested by the solution
Thanks

June 18, 2006 at 1:15 pmHi Manuel,
Yes it’s incredibly frustrating. Matt and the guys tested my original card without being able to duplicate the problem and I’m really appreciative of their efforts, but it still doesn’t work, even with a new replacement card. The fact that I have the same problem in two different PCI-e computers points to the card or drivers as the source of the problem.
At the moment I have to install a standard SDI PCI 32-bit Decklink in the computer for capturing, then replace it with the HD PCI-e for editing. I need the other Decklink in my other workstation so this install/reinstall thing can happen three or four times a day.
I’m also using an ASUS BMD-certified system which has the problem as per my “uncertified” Giga-byte GA-G1975X setup.

June 18, 2006 at 1:17 pmOne other thing. Moving the capture window around with the mouse or tablet during capture causes the “No Video Input” message to flash repeatedly. Could this be a co-incidence? Kristian?

June 19, 2006 at 7:18 amHi John,
Thanks for you information, because i digitalize with a sony 1500 deck.
Do you think the sdi output of sony 1500 deck have problem of compatibility with the decklink sdi input ?So I have to test the sdi signal of sony 1500. Howether, i see the sdi output on my JVC monitor with sdi input and it seems good.
I go to test the input with other sdi deck and i send you the result of my investigation.
Maybe, here is the source of that problem.
Thanks
Regards
Manuel

June 22, 2006 at 5:19 amI too am getting the same “No Video Input” flashing issues (Decklink Pro card on a Dual 2.0Ghz G5, being fed an SDI signal from the Workgroup Videohub). In our case, it happens only when the FCP Log & Capture window is open. It just started happening all of a sudden for no apparant reason, and after exhausting all troubleshooting measures that I could think of, I broke down and re-installed the whole G.D. operating system from scratch, reinstalled FCP 5.1.1 and the newest BMD drivers…
…but alas, the flashing STILL continues 🙁
So what gives, good folks at BMD???
