Hi,
If your disks are maxed out as you say, even transitions are defragmented if you render them.
Is it the final movie you are printing to video?
If so, you could delete unused material and use the free space to defragment your drives,
Use Terminal or https://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7380How to find unused media: select your timeline in the browser, use the apple + F and search for “unsused media”
Good luck!

Hi,
What are your current codec?
Are there any still images or other “odd” material in your project that might corrupt your recompress?Tip is to reorganise your material in FCP bins called
“recomp 1”
“recomp 2”
etc. so that you can recompress a bin at the time, and if you have corrupt/defiant files they wont mess up your whole export.– Media manager ain’t known for stability, if you have defiant files you could try compressor:
highlight your files in the browser ->export using compressor. You could try recompressing to for example photo Jpeg at 20-30% instead of DV
Hope this helps you out,Andreas

January 7, 2007 at 5:42 pm in reply to: getting “General Error” during renderingHi Dank,
not many similarities…
There is no intels in my system, however Ive also had an increase in dropped frames. We have blackmagic cards and are using PhotoJpeg codec for offline and Uncompressed for online…
we have both ati and nvida video cards. One tip however is to sett autorender to two minutes, because often the autorender can render when apple + R gives you “General Error”.
lately Ive been getting OI error on the fiber to one client, however I believe this is en separate error, Just thought I

December 21, 2006 at 8:14 am in reply to: Hmi pulse/flicker on a DVCPROHD 1080i50 recording.Hi,
The Color Stabilizer in Afer Effects is only in the pro versjon, so i downloaded the genarts sapphire demo,
and it works fine!Althoug I will consider upgrading to Pro, because if the over all exposure changes when you use sapphires flicker remover, you have to add keyframes…
all the best,

Hi.
As far as I know, you have to upgrade…
FCP 5.1 uses FX that are installed originally for Motion and other FX pluggins.
And you have to turn on: Effect->Effect Availability -> “All Effects” to show all pluggins.Andreas

– shos throughand set your Thumbnali display to: NAME
and work with as few timelines open as possible,

Hi,
All depends on the projectors quality and how its adjusted (both regarding to the luma and colour space and what the projector shows…)
Although normaly a projector (if correctly adjusted) shows what you see in underscan mode on your videomonitor. If you have the opportunity to play a dummy/test on the projector before the convention, Id consider that.
[Brian Pitt] “the top and bottom of my entire canvas is safe, but is it cutting off a small portion of the left and right sides…”
1)If its so that you see more in your canvas in final cut then on your monitor:
Try adjusting horisontal display on your videomonitor.
and if this dont work:
Which contacts do you use from your Mac to the videomonitor?2)If its so that you cant see all your graphics in fcps canvas:
check your export settings match fcps settings (square pixels/nonsquare pixels for instance)hope this helps you out!-)
