Most definately. I see them all the time. In fact sometimes I enlarge the timeline and zoom in to find a frame. I even got the take name and original timecode display in Vegas 8pro
I thought that was standard. How do you have your preferences set?

For some renders you really don’t use the “default” template.
May I also suggest a set of training DVD’s? I use Gary Kliener’s which are invaluable to me and he spells everything out in clear terms. But there are other great sets out there also, including DSE’s Vasst training DVD’s and I think Class on Demand has some.

I use a program from Moyea called Flash Video MX Pro.

Very simple to use and does a great job converting Flash to AVI, MOV and MP4.The program I had includes the FLV to Video converter.
You won’t need to go through those extra steps.Allen

Encoding to Flash use to work great for You Tube but I have heard that now You Tube re converts everything to flash regardless. Hense you’re better off using one of the suggestions above. I haven’t tried the MP4 yet because the WMV tutorial does work great. You don’t need a double rendered flash file Ugh!
That tutorial says to choose the 1mbps. In Vegas 7 the lowest choice you have initially is 3mbps. Then re-set it under the video tab to 1mbps.

You might consider the Canopus / Grass Valley ADVC 110 or 300. Personally I prefer these over the ADS model.
I have an older Canopus ADVC100 that’s a bi-directional Analog Digital converter and when I don’t need it for capturing, I have my external monitor connected to it. The 300 model also has a TBC in it to enhance the video when capturing old VHS tapes.
Just Google Grass Valley ADVC 110 or 300.

Yea, get the nNovia system! All kidding aside, never having worked with Firestor, is there a way to set or change your clip settings (format ie: avi type 2)? Maybe it’s set for FC or Adobe file format. Some editing software uses proprietary formats.

That’s what I figured. Is it a HD video? One of the others fellows will have to help you and I’ll be watching for replies also.
I never tried to bring an MPEG 4 into Vegas, but I’m thinking about getting that new Sony CX7 camera which is AVCHD MPEG-4.
Yea, AVI is a general wrapper for a few different kinds of video.

What kind of AVI files are they? have you been able to use any of them before in Vegas? We need some more details.
