Can Vegas not display the video frames in the timeline?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been using Vegas a while now, and my PC recently crashed. I have videos I need to finish on a not-so-hot computer. When importing a clip into the timeline, vegas displays frames of the clip in the timeline. It takes this computer forever to do it and whenever I zoom in/out or change anything it redoes the frames. I know Adobe Premiere has a setting to display only the first and last frames, does Vegas have something similar?

Most definately. I see them all the time. In fact sometimes I enlarge the timeline and zoom in to find a frame. I even got the take name and original timecode display in Vegas 8pro
I thought that was standard. How do you have your preferences set?

No, you cannot display only the first and last. You *CAN* turn them off but you’ll also turn off the audio waveforms. It’s one of the checkboxes on the Options – Preferences screen.

Do you happen to know what the option is called? I can’t seem to find it. Im in Vegas 7.0e.

Oops, in Vegas 7/8 it was moved to the View menu.
View – Waveforms and Frames (or press CTRL-SHIFT-W)
