If you’ve finalized the edit decision with regards to those reversed clips, you best bet is to perhaps:

In premiere pro:

1) One by one, copy the reversed clips to new timeline and export them as new media files. Make sure you account for transition handles in the export.

2) Import the Exported clips and use them as the sources on your timeline. (replacing the original clips with the reversed effect)

This new project should come accross to after effects just fine.

Ahh yes the open platform which is FCP….except DVCPRO HD and Pro Rez…

hmmm

Those codecs wil likely only be installed is FC is installed on a mac (best guess)..once installed, then you can use the media in any QT compliant application on that Mac.

So for PC usage….Me thinks an export of material to a standardized codec would be in oder to facilitate DVD authoring on a PC….

That’s intersting about MXF!

The early version of Bridge irritated me because it’s preference structure was to generate thumbnails based in files size. This is acceptable for Stills, but horrible for video.

If they have fixed this for video, and allowed you to set any thumbnail you want, it will start getting more intersting. I thought the Meta tagging was very cool for searching and cataloging.

Problem I saw was that it was great for localized stuff. Not so great in workgroup. Your metadata is your own.

Really need a Bridge Server / Bridge Client structure.
Bridge server could constantly be indexing content and hold all the side card data.

When you did a search in Bridge client it would use the Sever index giving you consisten results from any workstation in the group. NOW we’d be talking serious fun!

Hi,

Do you have Roxio Software installed?

If so check in Add Remove Programs for a file called “Roxio DLA”

This allows direct to disk dragging of files from the desktop, but it does conflict with Premiere Pro.

Remove Roxio DLA.

Reboot.

Try again.

After that, I got nuthin.

Would you mind expounding on that a bit?

XP with 3gb switch or Vista with even more ram?

I saw a toggle button to turn off red bar tracking in the timeline, does that help?

Someone asked me if the resolution of the media (codec) makes a difference for ram usage, I didn’t think so.

AS of PPro 2.0

if you select the source in the Project window PRIOR to using int anywhere in the timeline

Under the edit menu I believe there are some Audio Options…

this let’s you determine how you want to treat the audio in question when it’s editied in a sequence:

1) Stereo
2) Split Mono – Left/right each become a mono sources and are edited to mono tracks in the sequence.
3) Split Stereo – Create a stereo source from both of the audio channels of the source (so 2 lefts and 2 rights) and can be edited on to stereo tracks in a sequence (premiere default).

remember that this works in concert with the types of tracks available to you on the sequence timeline…so you might want add what you need prior to editing this stuff to the sequence.

This is the closest I can get Premiere to mimicking the behavior of other NLE’s

still not quite ideal….but getting closer….

this also allows 422 control.

The I could pair this with the Sony HDV as opposed to the Canon?

If you are looking for the traditional mix to picutre functions of Pro Tools from an editorial project you started in Premiere….

A customer of mine has used the followng workflow:

1) Export Premiere as AAF
2) Open the AAF in a copy of Avid Xpress
3) Export OMF
4) Bring OMF into Pro tools

That seemed to work. The Adobe AAF is not compatible with Pro Tools Directly.
