If you have an audio editor you can open the audio clip in the editor, amplify it, and copy it back into Vegas. I use a free audio editor called Wavepad which you should be able to download. In Vegas you have the option to make this your Audio editor and then you highlight the audio clip and with a right click you can open it in Wavepad. Hope this helps.

I think that I messed up the DVD drive trying to burn a dual layer. That drive has stopped working. The program seems to work OK with a second DVD writer so that seems to be the answer. Now to buy a new DVD writer!

I have Movie Studio and I use the Audio Envelope Regularly. Unfortunately there is no Video envelope in Studio.

Nothing was muted. Every other program worked including Architect Studio. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and it now works properly! Another computer mystery.

Thanks Ed. I can’t do the velocity envelope as I don’t think that it comes on Movie Studio. The other methods work fine, and I particularly like the simplicity of lengthening and switching off looping. Am I correct in supposing that if the clip contains movement the frozen final frame will be slightly fuzzy

Would it not be easier to use a sound editor such as Sound Forge to increase and improve the sound quality?

Many thanks for such a quick response. As I am not in HD (yet), nor do I export to any other format than DVD, it seems that the only attractive improvements are faster processing and a better preview. This latter may convince me but I’ll have to think about it. I’ll read all the blurbs again on the Sony site. Cheers.
