I think that I have solved the problem, but I don’t know why. I deleted all the clips and put them in again and they work together as they should! What I did differently in putting in the clips i have no idea. Sorry to have bothered you with this

Thanks for your reply. That only worked for the one clip. I then did select all and made that a group. The new problem here is that I can trim any clip plus its audio, but then it won’t ripple back to fill the gap. I have auto ripple on but that doesn’t seem to work in the circumstances as all the clips are in a group and move as a group, gaps and all. I don’t remember ever having this problem with earlier versions of Movie Studio. I must be doing something wrong but I can’t see what.

Thanks for reply. I did have “ignore event grouping” turned off and it made no difference. However, when I added more clips it seemed to be OK again. One of those digital mysteries?

Thanks for your comments. I have Movie Studio not Vegas Pro so that may affect it. As far as the audio is concerned my movie program renders the audio track automatically, immediately after rendering the video, and should then automatically pass both tracks to Architect Studio. As I have already said I think that it is time to move forward to a new film.

The iPad clips didn’t work in their original codec. I have tried several different conversions and sometimes they render, other times they don’t. A further nuisance is that the ipad clips often become black on the timeline. When rendering they sometimes render as they should while at other times they render as a black view. My other clips, apart from my main Sony VX2100E include photos and mobile clips which usually work OK. I have now pretty well given up on this film. I have one version which worked but included some mistakes I made in the timeline, but ever since, after correcting these faults I have not been able to finish a rendering. I did once and got very excited, only to find when it went into Architect Studio that it hadn’t rendered the audio files! I know that there is nothing wrong with the computer or the program as I rerendered old vf files with no problem.

My Fault. I had “ignore event groupings switched on.” Still can’t solve the Rendering problem below.

This is a mystery. I updated to build 1183 and still had the same problem. However, I started a new project using some of the same clips and this time the trimming process works as it should. Something strange appears to have happened in the original vf file. I certainly did not not press the Ignore Event Grouping button, so what caused the audio and video events to ungroup I don’t know. Anyway, I am now going to upgrade to version 13.

Glad it’s not just me. I overcame this by grouping everything in order to trim the clips, and then ungrouping the lot to close up the gaps! I hope that this bug will be sorted out soon. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your quick response guys. I have resolved the problem now. I wasn’t duplicating the texts but my preset contained the words of the last text entered which I then deleted and overwrote. I think that this caused the problem. My new preset presents a blank space for the new text and this seems to have worked. Thanks again.

Well Sony might have let me know! I loaded this from the DVD set which I bought from Amazon. It was cheaper than upgraded my version 10. The Vegas Movie Program advised me to upgrade that, which I did, but no such notice on the other program. When they reply, eventually, to my query I will give them my views on this. Cheers.
