I am now on Movie Studio 12 and I am encountering a problem which I have never had before on previous versions. When I try to shorten a clip. either at the beginning or the end, the audio (voice) track does not shorten unless somehow I lock the events together, and this does not always work. The video and audio clips seem to have become disconnected, even when I try to highlight them or delete them. I have tried grouping and ungrouping but this causes slipping problems. What settings should I be using for normal editing and why hasn’t this happened in earlier versions? Please advise.

Glad it’s not just me. I overcame this by grouping everything in order to trim the clips, and then ungrouping the lot to close up the gaps! I hope that this bug will be sorted out soon. Thanks for your reply.

This is a mystery. I updated to build 1183 and still had the same problem. However, I started a new project using some of the same clips and this time the trimming process works as it should. Something strange appears to have happened in the original vf file. I certainly did not not press the Ignore Event Grouping button, so what caused the audio and video events to ungroup I don’t know. Anyway, I am now going to upgrade to version 13.
