Solved!!! I just updated Architect Studio to Build 156 and it worked. Goodness knows why build 150 had this problem. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Thanks, but I have done exactly what you suggested, which is the way I have always done it, but the audio stream still won’t go into Architect studio. Again I get the message:File C:UsersAlex BennettAppDataLocalSonyVegas Movie Studio HD Platinum11.0new tester.ac3 does not have an appropriate stream to open.
At some stage I think I saw that Architect Studio was set to receive ac3 files at 36000. I have rendered at 44000. Would this affect it. I can’t now find anyway of changing the Architect Studio settings. I think the problem must lie there as it won’t receive the audio stream from any of my previously rendered files.

The message I get in Architect studio is “File C:UsersAlex BennettAppDataLocalSonyVegas Movie Studio HD Platinum11.0new tester.ac3 does not have an appropriate stream to open.”
Hope that helps.

I had this problem some while ago. After spending a lot of time with the Sony Help line, including reporting file errors etc, I resolved the problem by restoring my computing, going back to a restore point that allowed the program to open. You will not lose any data files, video clips etc by doing this, but you may have to reinstall any other programs which were installed after the Restore Point used, plus windows updates etc.

I do use the volume envelope with the little patches to move it up and down within events or groups thereof, especially when I am combining ambient sound or voice-over with music. The confusion arose over the terms Audio envelope and Volume envelope, which are the same thing. (plus panning of course.)

Yes, I’ve done it. Thanks for all your help Mike. It’s just as well this happened as I didn’t realize that my timeline wasn’t displaying.

It’s OK, I found it by going to the Sony site. I exposed the timeline using a double arrow, so I will now try again.

The core of my problem is that there is no timeline or symbols on either of my text generators, text or scrolling text. I have version 9 platinum edition. Without this timeline I cannot scroll the text horizontally. I need to know where the timelines have gone. Any idea anyone?

I am a bit puzzled by the last posting as I have an audio envelope in Movie Studio which can change the volume in a clip, although it cannot increase it beyond the original maximum. But if the whole line volume can be raised this audio envelope can be used to adjust each clip. I also realise that you can get certain audio effects by right clicking on the audio clip and selecting “Apply non-real-time-events FX” and then selecting Volume. On the other hand, what is an amateur like me doing giving advice ! Stick with the experts Tad.

Thanks Mike. However, I couldn’t see a “Last Keyframe” button anywhere in the titler. Is this in Vegas movie studio? In fact there was nothing to indicate that a first keyframe had been created when I put a value in the X box at the start. More help please? Thanks.
