    All valid points.

The one tool you have access to right now is particleView, with it’s search engine.

    In pI3, you have:
    – emitter thumbnails. Makes it much easier to visually locate emitters in a list.
    – thumbnails show in the “load library” dialog for the selected emitter library too.
    – Library Manager, which lets you move emitters from any emitter into another library. So you could create a “favorite pyro” library, then go through the existing libraries and move appropriate emitters into the “favorite pyro” lib. Takes some work, but easier than doing it in SE.

The 3.0 demo for Windows is fully-functional for 30 days, so give it a try. All owners of SE can upgrade to 3.0 at any time by paying the difference in price between the 2 products.

    Hope that helps.

Select “height” in the hierarchy then change the value in the graph window by clicking and dragging the data point. Same for “Width”.

You can also hit “N” to bring up the numeric entry box.

Are the wondertouch.com email addresses bouncing, or are you getting any error messages? I’m guessing your email is getting blocked at some point along the way to us.

On the contact page of our website there is a “last resort” hotmail email address you can use, as well as a phone number.

I’d like to see the final result. I thought that would be one of the emitters that nobody ever used.

Did you have to do anything special to get 3.0.3 working on Vista 64? Is there some compatibility setting (or whatever) that is required?

Any emitter that is on the stage can be added to the current library by r-clicking on the emitter in the stage window and selecting “Add to Library”.

That explains it — we haven’t released the Leopard-compatible SE version yet. Very soon (couple of days).

Hmmm. What version is it? (Check the “about” screen). If it’s not 3.0.6, please email support at wondertouch dot com.

That was true in older versions, but AVI can use alpha now (if you’re using 3.0.2 or newer).

Also, don’t use uncompressed AVI. Use a lossless codec like Huffyuv or Lagarith. They work better in pIllusion, and they take up less drive space. And they don’t lose any quality (it’s lossless compression, like a ZIP file).

August 12, 2008 at 8:25 pm in reply to: Layer offset animation

No, layer offset is straight line only. I’m not sure exactly what you’re trying to do, but you can import keys into the layer offset. Get the data from After Effects (or any other compatible system), making sure you have a key at every frame. Then when you import into the layer offset data, you’ll have a curve (if your original data in AE was curved).

You can test this out by placing an emitter, using “record position” to create some curvy path, then export the position data to the clipboard, then import the position data to the layer offset.

    Make sense?
