I forgot to say “thanks” to 4ami for his “ethereal” emitters, and to Diony who provided the original inspiration for them.

Also Don Murphy, who provided me with a few emitters that I ended up modifying quite a bit — but that’s what’s great about pIllusion! You can start with an emitter that may not look like anything special, but because it was made by somebody else they did things a little differently, so you just have to change a couple of parameters to come up with something that you never would have thought of on your own. =)

A hint to anybody trying to make their own emitters: changing the particle shape image is a great first step. If you have an emitter that you don’t really like, try a different shape image.

particleIllusion emitters do not work in Motion.

We have converted a number of the particleIllusion emitters into Motion format, and sell that as a new product.

Although pI3 does support IFF files, there are many flavors of IFF, and I don’t think that the Maya “flavor” is supported right now, although I could be wrong. I seem to remember people saying that it’s not.

As far as I know, the 50-day counter will expire early only if your computer date was changed, although I don’t know the exact details. Email me privately and we’ll get it figured out.
