No offense, but those are both ancient, terrible codecs. You’ll get much better results with a modern codec like DivX.
The “AVI Request Format Error” only occurs with the older version of particleIllusion 3.0 (before 3.0.2). Download the updates from our website and you won’t have this problem, even if you load DV AVIs.

I’m thinking this may be an OpenGL issue. You’re on Windows, right? Use the “run with software rendering” option in the Start – Programs – particleIllusion 3.0 – troubleshooting menu.
If that works, then you need to download the latest video drivers from your graphics card manufacturer’s website.

You may be missing the image support DLLs in the particleIllusion folder. Can you load images into a layer?
If not, then you need to reinstall.

What output resolution are you trying to create? Odd resolutions may not be supported by the codec you’re choosing.

You can’t change the DPI info in particleIllusion. I suggest choosing a different format (not PNG). Can’t you set Flash to ignore DPI somehow?

If you didn’t get my email, then please post here the error message you’re getting, or describe in detail what is happening.
From the email you sent, it seems like you entered the serial number incorrectly, which is why I always suggest using Copy and Paste.

Ah sorry. Why do you need that page? If you need a tool for searching for emitters, you have 2 options:
1) The emitter catalog. There’s a link to it in the right side blue column on the emitter libraries page of our website
2) The emitter search function of particleView.
