Ok, start a new project at that stage size.
From the “default” library add the “star trails 2” emitter and the “water jet” emitter.
Now try to render with alpha as you did before. Does it work?

So what’s the difference between the test setups and the real project you’re trying to render?
Resolution is the same, output format is the same? (You’ve tried PNG output with your real project?)
Is it a motion blur setting?

First things first: you have the “end” frame set to something other than 2, right?
Create a New project, 320×240. Do NOT add any emitters. Save as PNG sequence — see if the entire sequence saves.
If it does, add an emitter and repeat.
Next step, increase the stage size to what you want.

You can use “record position” to manually move around an emitter, then export that position data to the clipboard. Then you can select the “Layer Offset” and import the position data from the clipboard and the layer will now have this “shaking” motion.
BUT… any background images won’t be affected by this. So if you want to shake your footage and your effects, you’ll need to use another application most likely.

That seems like the right steps to me. Are you using the latest version of pIRender?
What motion blur settings are set in pIRender?
What stage size (output resolution) are you using?

With Animation codec, set quality as high as possible, and number of colors as high as possible and it should be enabled.

Did you check the “save alpha” option in the output options dialog? If so, then set the quality and colors sliders to the highest setting.

Video driver issue. Get updated drivers from your video card manufacturer’s website.

Ctrl-drag (or Cmd-drag on Mac I think) the emitter and it will move the entire position path.
