  • Those probably use “size over life” to grow the clouds, so you’d have to vary the “life” property. Decrease life to sepeed up, increase life to slow down.

Check your Library Backups folder, and try loading an older version of that same file. If it used to load fine, some change you made probably corrupted it. I’d start with the most recent backup and go backward from there. Once you find one that loads, I’d be interested to hear what you changed since then.

Also, what exact version of pI3 are you using?

I’m actually quite close to releasing that library we talked about months ago (it’s gotten much larger, as I can’t seem to stop adding variations). Reworking for HD is a good idea though, although I’d need to have a better idea of what people want from an “HD version”. Actually, I’m going to start a new thread for that right now…

Joe: how many of the 3000+ emitters have you already used or at least evaluated? There are so many great emitters already available (included) with pI, if you can’t find one of those that you like for your projects it’s unlikely that any new emitters will be useful for you either.

Another important point: 64-bit doesn’t mean faster. Often that it the case, but converting 32-bit pI to 64-bit most likely won’t result in a significant speed increase. Yes it will be able to use more memory, but it’s not going to be twice as fast unless we rework significant parts of it.

Also, I’ve never found creating emitters to be a slow process at all, even on older computers, so the phrase “at a snail’s pace” is quite unfair.

I’m curious what video editor you’re talking about?

Once you’re in AE, you use AE’s UI conventions. So however you normally create a curve in AE is how you do it in pIAE too — alt-click only works in the standalone version of pI.

About “check for updates” not telling you about this…

I think I just forgot to update the data file on the server for the version check. I’ll look into this. Thanks for pointing it out!

Great! I was just checking on what the latest version was, as this was the main problem we fixed in the last release. You had me worried for a minute. 🙂

There is no way to get a curved line emitter (which I think is what you’re asking about). Also, deflectors are not in there, and probably won’t be added — sorry to say.

Why do you think pI3 has a limit of 1920×1080? You can render almost any stage size you want — just type the width and height values you need.
