Make sure the sequence numbers in the filenames contain leading zeros. I’m guessing the numbering was “file1.png, file2.png… file9.png, file10.png, etc.”
It needs to be “file001.png, file002.png, etc.”

So glad you posted that. I was going to say that image sequences are as easy to use as movie files. 🙂
To stop particles from emitting when the car engine shuts off, add some points to the “number” graph so the value goes down to 0. If you’re not sure what I mean by this, add any “explosion” emitter to your project and look at its “number” graph.

SE is limited to a single layer, so you can’t do it there. Download the pI3 trial, then:
1) load your background image/clip, place particles on it.
2) create a new layer on top of this, load your cartoon character (with existing alpha channel) on it.Alan.

What codec are you using for AVI? That’s the key.
Or render as an image sequence.

Open the emitter properties dialog for the emitter on the stage, then increase the “preload frames”

I’ll add “balloon” emitters to the list for the next release. A better description of what you actually want to see would help.

Please email support at genarts dot com with this information if you haven’t already. Please provide as much information as possible, including screenshots or a couple of rendered files.
One thing you can do to see if it’s memory-related is to set a region of interest, and see if the alpha starts behaving.

No, you can’t copy/paste keys, but if the only difference in the emitters is the time at which they happen, you can set the first one up then COPY it, then move to the time you want the second to happen and PASTE, move to the time you want the third to happen and PASTE, etc.
The only other thing you can do is get the first life graph setup the way you want it, then r-click in the graph and set it as a reference graph.
