Use the boole to (A subtract B) remove half of the sphere, this will leave a solid face at the intersection.
Make the boole object editable, drag the two components out of the Boole structure, delete the Boole, which becomes a null when made editable and you then have two objects, the open semi-sphere and it’s solid face.

Is that what you were after?

Yes, it’s weird, you can do it at the sub-object level in the tools attributes\modelling axis. But not at the object level.

    Thanks I’ll do that.

I’m using PSD on the PCs but like XP with plugins for browsing, also Paintshop pro has a nice browser. I’m a bit reluctant to spend the big dollars on photoshop fpr the Mac just to browse buty perhaps I’ll get my money’s worth in other ways.

    thanks Bjorn

I must check out this scripting/coffee stuff too. Way back in my 3DS days I scrited in Max and my guess is it’ll be easier in c4d.

Oooo! if you do manage to puzzle it out can you give a thicko like me some ‘short word’ guidance please.

  • No, it’s compressor.

Export using QT conversion and you pictures will look beautiful.

I’ve even had compressor wrecking keying logos and all sorts. I never use it now for mpeg2 work

    Hi Adam,

Sorry, didn’t make myself very clear, I added a display tag to the particle geometry. Works a treat with the individual particles fading in and out correctly for my needs.

These particles all have the same life duration.

    Okay, got it!
Animate the display parameters of the material.

Sorry Bear I didn’t make it very clear did I 🙂

It’s the viewport I was talking about, I understand about locking the timeline etc.

I was enquiring generally about how best to direct the processor efficiently to isolate the animating task in hand rather than waste it’s time with the rest of the scene. I was wondering if anyone had developed workflows that help with this.

    Cheers Alan
