I’d second that about the ‘601’ slomos.

    Thanks Dave,

I’ve got F4M and I’m pretty sure that Vegas will be able to export ‘Animation’ QT. Will those files be much smaller that ‘None’ compression (24 bit) do you think?

Re the gamma issue, I checked that the files he was exporting weren’t screwed up gamma wise on the export by replacing them on his timeline and they looked fine, so it must definitely have been a Mac thing. Also I did an ‘uncompressd’ round trip to check things out and that worked perfectly too, but the file sizes were huge!

What’s your suggestion about the F4M route, Vegas has a wonderful export codec selection and with my F4M (the full HD version), are there any useful options there do you think? How about H264?

Thanks very much for your feedback.

If there’s no obvious direction in time, you can loop fowards/backwards/forwards etc seamlessly.

That’s such a shame and a big failing that I hope Sony will fix in the future. Also the thumbnails should reflect the fx applied as well as an indication that an fx has been applied.

Fast (now Avid x Pinnacle) Studio had these things since version 1, years ago.

Does anyone know why MacDrive6 is only available in the US?

All the sites I’ve visited say “only shipped within the US”

In in UK and the only reference I can find to it over here is a – no longer available add on Amazon.co.uk for MacDrive2000

    Thanks Alan

What about looking into Sony Vegas as a transcoder. They’ve just posted vers7c

    Chris,

Not sure I understand your expalanation here and as I plan to UG Pshop 5.5 to CS2 soon I’d like to get to the bottom of it as I use tgas all the time. BTW, shame FCP still wont import a tga sequence.

Targas have always only supported one alpha channel and that’s optional (24v32 bpp) so when I save out of PS5 it’s the fourth channel(after RGB) that gets to be the alpha, therefore the transparency, channel.

Can you explaing how this has changed since v7 and also any information you have about premultiplication in CS?

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards Alan
