The KONA and Io are two separate products. The KONA 2 does have the 2vuy codec and can play Cinewave files as Gary points out, but this is not included with the Io.

Hi Fred-
Our next driver release contains the fix for the problem with the audio input level. In the “Setup” tab of the Kona Control Panel, there will be a checkbox labeled “Ignore Audio Gain” . When this is checked the Kona board will ignore audio input gain commands from FCP and set the audio input gain to unity.
This new driver is currently in beta, and will be released soon.

Hi-
The Control Panel is a separate app, so therefore should not conflict with drivers for your PCI card. This configuration works with Kona 2, and theoretically should work with another company’s PCI card and drivers as well.

Inside of the Io installer, is one named “IoLA-PAL.mpkg”. Is this what you installed? It should contain the PAL setups you need.

The D5CE is a standard-def converter, not HD capable. You need the HD10A for HD analog to HD-SDI. This converter is readily available in our sales channel from a dealer near you.

Any and all of the Io Control Panel settings, including ProcAmp, can be saved and recalled later.
Under the “Presets” tab, there are controls for “Load Preset” and “Save Preset As…”. Any preset can also be set as the default, with the “Set Default” button, which once set even retains the settings if the Io is powered down and unplugged!
So…a few of your wishes have come true 😉
