April 5, 2014 at 1:39 amYes, the Ki Pro Quad may be used as a playback device for digital signage. You will need to create compatible Apple ProRes files. A guide to the appropriate settings for compatible files is found in the Ki Pro Quad user manual on page 34. The user manual may be found here:

March 12, 2014 at 1:43 amThe Sony PMW-F3, the Sony PMW-F5 and the Sony PMW-F55 should all share the same start/stop trigger in their SDI ancillary data. Therefore, you might consider using the CONFIG 13.1 Camera Data menu parameter on the Ki Pro set to “Sony F3”; this setting allows the Ki Pro to respond to start/stop commands from the camera. The camera output also needs to be configured appropriately.
Alternately, but not in combination with the 13.1 Camera Data menu parameter, you could elect to use the CONFIG 8.3 Arm Recording parameter set to “TC/REC KEY”; be aware that this parameter is only useful if your camera has media in it and is operating with record run timecode. The incrementing timecode of record run is required to make this feature possible; free run timecode, because it is continuously running, does not provide start and stop values for the timecode.
If you have questions about a configuration or specific features, please don’t hesitate to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email between 9am and 5pm PST Monday through Friday.

February 5, 2014 at 6:41 pmYou may want to look at the AJA Io XT:
https://www.aja.com/en/products/io-xtThe only item from your list that the Io XT does not natively offer is analog audio input. This could be accomplished via the use of a converter, such as the AJA HD10AMA, used in combination with the Io XT:
https://www.aja.com/en/products/mini-converters/hd10amaAlso, be aware that for analog audio output, a user-supplied DB-25 audio cable is needed.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the AJA Sales Department via phone or email, Monday through Friday, between 9am and 5pm PST.

January 21, 2014 at 11:38 pmSince you are working with a VHS source, you may wish to consider the use of a time base corrector (TBC). This tool would help stabilize the signal coming out of the source VHS deck before it is sent to the Io HD.
If you have questions about configuration and workflow, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email, Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm PST. AJA Technical Support is provided free of charge and they will be happy to assist you.

January 8, 2014 at 2:26 amThe KONA 3 XLRs are designed for AES/EBU digital audio, not analog audio. The Shure audio mixer is likely outputting balanced analog audio, not AES/EBU digital audio.
