1. Modify spacing without changing trajectory: the easiest way to do this is to assign a time track to animation.
2. Curved path with linear spacing: easiest way to effect this is to use a spline path with align to spline tag instead of keyframes. Keyframe the align-to-spline’s offset parameter using linear interpolation and also set the spline path’s Intermediate Points to uniform.
3. Selecting the dots in the viewport: You can only select the keyframe dots (not the smaller interpolated dots). In order to see/change the handles you have to select the keyframes and turn off auto tangents in the attributes manager.

You can put your extruded text inside a mograph fracture object (set to explode and connect). Put the multishader material on the fracture object and then assign an effector — like the shader or step effector — in color mode only to the fracture object. You’ll probably have to play with the effector’s Min/Max settings to get the distribution you want.

I don’t know of any function that searches for identical geometry, but I think it most cases where there are identical objects they should have the same names, or at least names that contain identical strings. If that’s the case then you can use the search function in the Object Manager (magnifying glass) to solo them in the object manager.

June 10, 2016 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Boole + cube not working when trying to cut a block out of a car modelI don’t know of another way to do it in Cinema. There was a plugin called rboole that worked with alpha materials but I don’t think it works in versions after 15.

Try using a Character>Retarget tag.

It often works better that way.

June 7, 2016 at 3:31 am in reply to: How do i make a circular brushed metal textureThere are two ways you can do it:
1. Use the reflection channel with a Type: Anisotropic layer. There are a lot of settings to play with here but it can produce a very nice result with some trial and error;
2. Use the Effects>Lumas shader in a material’s luminance channel with the Anistoropic option turned on. Again, there are a number of settings and it takes some experimentation. This is less realistic than the reflectance option but it renders faster.
Examples: 10166_circularaniso.c4d.zip

Same thing: render with Alpha. But you also have to save the animation in a format that supports alphas, like MOV with millions of colors+, PNG sequence, TIF sequence, etc.

Not sure if it would matter but I would typically put the map in the hair material’s density channel rather than length. If you set the hair object to display hair lines in the viewport you should see the effect in the editor window. Make sure you’re map is correct as far as UV mapping goes.

Do you have the Enable Axis (modification) mode active? Where do the imported models come from?
