used masking, pan-cropping, track motion, blend modes etc.
which part you puzzled by, specifically?

multiple ways:
1) right click a clip and choose channel / left or right / combine etc
2) use a pan envelope (right click on track header etc)
3) for track = partic channel, duplicate the track, and make one track left channel, the other right channel

awesome machine, but don’t know if your striping is the way to go.
you don’t say what format you’re cutting on, but personally would not have the 4 x drives striped. Far better to have them 2 x striped, so that physically separate drives, i.e. one RAID for edit material, another for rendered material. That way you would be certain that render is being carried out on a drive that is not being read, which would be faster than 4 x striped. IMHO. And safer too, since you’re not using Raid 5.

I just press D twice, drag across the selection, then press D again twice to return to the regular cursor, and off you go – to U or G etc

add all pics to single track in one go.
select all pics
run simple script you can google: Add2SecondGap.js and edit in notepad if you want different duration of gap.
Also, make sure Ripple Edit is OFF when you run the script.

lol, Graham. Your point was on the money – the only reason for my posting was that Jill mentioned she wanted to avoid adding tracks, IIRC.

I hear you, Jill. Experimented with your findings and was amused that I’d never noticed that behaviour before.
Well, the only solution I’ve found is to drag the 2nd clip (currently underneath) to the right, and then it pops to the front. Not really helpful, since no doubt you wanted the 2nd clip more to the left, but can’t see any easy solution if not wanting to add tracks…..also, it makes sense that the 2nd clip WOULD be under the older clip, since it is trying to create a dissolve / transition.

turn on ripple, double click the blank space and then delete. easy peasy
