It is NOT a mantanace update.

Its not manipulative its business man. This is actually VARY normal. I don’t know of any software company that sells there old versions once the new ones come out.

There are several different forms of wide screen. For example when I watch a wide screen show on my widescreen TV some times it fills the entire screen, and some times it puts black bars on the top and bottom.

16X9 refers to the aspect ratio. 16 units wide by 9 units high.

They are correct.

Quick time is not like any other application it is integrated into the OS. When ever QT is updated it essentially updates part of the OS.

The only way to go backward is to archive and install the OS and then update everything that except quicktime.

What problems are you having with QT 7.2

My first bet is ram I have seen ram past those test yet still cause problems., (they arent all that intense of a test).

I would make an appointment at your local genius bar and let them take a look.

No USB only works in burst of data, for video you NEED constant data transfer.

You could use FW, but I would suggest using eSATA, get a eSATA card for your MBP.
eSATA is 2x as fast as FW800. And it will be even faster if you raid 2 or more drives together.

I do not believe that you can. Apple Mail is a GREAT application.

To create the second boot drive, simply boot from your install disk and select the drive you want to install onto.

To choose which drive you want to boot from that is not set as your primary boot drive, simply hold down the option key when you turn the computer on and then select the drive you wish to boot from.

It is hard to say, I would sign up for an appointment at the Genius bar at your closest Apple Store and have them take a look at it.

User name yes, short name NO.

it is done in the system preferences under accounts.

If you want a new short name you will have to create a new user account, give it administrator rights and then move any files over to the new account.

AND DONT EVEN THINK OF JUST RENAMING THE USERS FOLDER WITH A NEW SHORT NAME, YOU ARE ASKING FOR A WORLD OF TROUBLE TO FALL ON YOUR HEAD.

I will tell you what was wrong. If you change the easy set up, you MUST create a new project in order for it to have the properties of the easy set up. Doing the Easy set up douse not change the properties on a project currently open. That is why you were required to render.
